You will be challenged and motivated by our 30 undergraduate majors and 26 minors as well as by special opportunities such as the Salem Signature program, the Center for Women Writers and the Women in Science and Math program. Whether you enter Salem with a specific educational goal in mind or want the chance to academically stretch yourself, you'll be right at home at Salem. Small Classes, Supportive Faculty Our student-faculty ratio of 13:1 means individual attention from our talented and diverse faculty members; the chance to speak your mind among your peers; and the opportunity to work together to design projects, propose research topics and obtain internships in your chosen field of study. The January Term ever year, which is mandatory for undergraduates, is a rich source of experiential education that may lead you abroad to study another culture or have you doing research closer to home. Undergraduate, Graduate and Post-Baccalaureate Programs As an undergraduate at Salem you may study for a bachelor of arts (B.A), bachelor of science (B.S.), bachelor of music (B.M.) or bachelor of science in business administration (B.S.B.A.) degree. Women-and men-aged 23 and over may enter Salem College to become certified as teachers or earn Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) or Master of Education (M.Ed.) degrees.
