As a researcher, I am the author of three books,” The Perfect Baby: A Pragmatic Approach to Genetics,” “Beyond Genetics,” “Bioethics for Beginners” and more than 200 articles about ethical issues in biotechnology, science and medicine published in medical, scientific and law journals. I have edited three books: “Pragmatic Bioethics,” “The Human Cloning Debate” and “Who Owns Life?” As the founder of The American Journal of Bioethics, I served for 11 years as its editor-in-chief. I have been elected to the Board of Directors of the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities and have received the FDA’s Outstanding Service Award for his work on ethics in genetic testing.

I have three sons, Ethan, Austin and Aidan, all of whom make fun of me for playing Xbox.
