Winston-Salem TEACH Awarded a $198,000 Grant from The Reynolds American Foundation

The Reynolds American Foundation has awarded Salem College with a $198,000 grant to support the Winston-Salem TEACH program. Winston-Salem TEACH is a pioneering, inter-institutional partnership between the four partner institutions that recruits and prepares aspiring educators to teach in high-need Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools (WS/FCS). The two-year grant will support partial stipend scholarships for Winston-Salem TEACH residents who complete a master’s degree at one of the three partner institutions of higher education.

“We are extremely grateful for the continued support of The Reynolds American Foundation, which was one of our first program supporters,” stated Dr. Kate Allman, Executive Director of Winston-Salem TEACH. “This generous grant will allow Winston-Salem TEACH to continue to attract and put the very best teachers in our high-need Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools.”

The grant will be directed by Dr. Kate Allman (Wake Forest University and Winston-Salem State University), Dr. Rebecca Jordan (Salem College), Dr. Tanya Hudson (WSSU), Dr. Alan Brown (Wake Forest University), and Alexandra Hoskins (WS/FCS).
