Dr. Jason Robertson joined the faculty of Salem in 2022, having taught for 11 years at other colleges and universities in both public health and biomedical science. In addition to teaching, he has been a health promotion practitioner for 20 years working in the areas of sexual health, substance abuse, and mental health promotion. He currently serves as the director of Salem’s public health program. Dr. Robertson’s research interests include community-based approaches to addressing mental health, suicide prevention, preparation of public health practitioners, and health equity for LGBTQIA+ populations.
