Alumna Courtney Jones Robinson C’99, knew Salem College was the right place for her after she participated in Governor’s School—a state-sponsored summer education program designed for high-achieving high school students—on the Salem campus. “That summer experience on that gorgeous campus left an impression on me,” Courtney said.

Courtney majored in biology, and the close relationships she formed with her professors made her feel supported during her four years at Salem. She recalled one professor in particular calling her in her dorm room to check on her when she was sick, and she said of her time as a student at Salem College: 

“It was such an intimate and close-knit community, and I truly felt like people cared about me. I felt well nurtured in many ways, from forming connections with my peers to feeling appreciated and valued by my professors to being in an environment where everyone was invested in my success. It was one of the best decisions I made in my life, choosing to attend Salem.”

Courtney has worked in clinical research for 21 years. She currently works for a clinical research organization, supporting the strategic delivery of global clinical supplies to ensure they are safe for patients. Courtney said she is “especially passionate about advancing treatments for rare diseases and underserved communities.”
