Salem awarded $300,000 grant
Salem College is proud to announce it has been awarded a transformational three-year grant from the Wake Forest University Educating Character Initiative, funded by Lilly Endowment Inc. This significant investment will directly support Salem’s Touchstones for Character: Gender, Care and Justice project, which is a cornerstone for our mission to develop ethical, compassionate, and courageous leaders.
The grant emerged from one of Salem’s signature initiatives, the Engaging Ethics program, and will benefit others, such as the RISE Leadership Development Program. Students will deepen their understanding of self and society as they engage in programs that cultivate ethical leadership, social responsibility, and the power of inclusive dialogue – core pillars of our liberal arts education.
This award affirms Salem’s vision in ethics and character education and our innovative approach to women’s leadership.
