Position Summary:

The Athletic Van Driver will drive Salem Academy and College Athletic teams to and from away games.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive Salem Academy & College Athletic teams to and from away games
  • Follow all rules of the road to help ensure safe transport of passengers
  • Commitment to being a role model in all interactions with student-athletes, coaches,
  • and others
  • Ability to communicate with Athletic administrators and coaches
  • Perform vehicle safety inspections before every trip
  • Flexible schedule
  • Ability to drive up to eight hours

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
  • Good driving record required
  • Experience with driving 15-passenger vans
  • Ability to drive vehicles with passenger limits ranging from 15-passenger vans
  • Flexible schedule that allows for night driving and occasional overnight stays
  • Be able to pass background check
  • Allowed to work and be around minors
Physical Functions:
  • While performing the responsibilities of the Athletic Van Driver, the employee is required to sit for varying lengths of time; may reach, lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds; occasionally kneel and occasionally ascend/descend stairs; use hands to drive a vehicle; perceive sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and receive detailed information through oral communication; express and exchange ideas by means of spoken word.
