Position Summary: The Annual Giving Officer is responsible for the implementation of strategic initiatives in annual giving. In collaboration with the Director of Philanthropy, the Annual Giving Officer will establish an annual plan based on constituent data to meet the fiscal year goals for the Academy Fund and the College Fund. This includes direct mail solicitations, email solicitation, giving day campaigns, crowdfunding and working with volunteers and gift officers on Reunion Class Giving.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities ‘
- Direct Mail and Communications
- Work with the Director of Philanthropy to establish overall solicitation themes.
- Establish project management steps and timelines for annual solicitations
- Outline direct mail, email and social media solicitations to meet annual giving goals
- Use constituent data to create giving pyramids for the College Fund and the Academy Fund
- Under the supervision of the Director of Philanthropy and in cooperation with the Office of Marketing and Communication, create direct mail, email, and social media solicitations to meet annual giving goals
- Manage strategy and communications for giving days
Prospect Management

- Study data from previous years to establish goals for society-level giving
- Create a plan to increase the number of society donors at each giving level
- Use data to identify prospects to solicit to encourage donors to upgrade to higher giving levels.
- Work with Major Gift officers to identify and secure matching-gift challenges for group fundraising efforts and giving days
Volunteer Management

- Train and manage class officers during reunion giving cycle
- Oversee the Reunion Giving programs and work with Office of Alumnae Engagement to ensure seamless training and best results for reunion leaders
- Coordinate with the Office of Alumnae Engagement to ensure Alumnae Boards are engaged in best ways to promote and carry out the goals of the Annual Fund
Data Management
- Using Blackbaud database and associated software, compile appropriate reports to include but not limited to: annual giving information and solicitations, reunion giving and solicitations, specific demographic reports, segmented reports for directed mailings
Alumnae and Donor Cultivation

- Attend Institutional Advancement alumnae and donor events as designated by the VP of Institutional Advancement including Christmastide, Scholarship Luncheon, Reunion Weekend, local WS alumnae events
- Attend College and Academy Alumnae Board meetings as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualification:
Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in fundraising, business, communications, non-profit management, marketing, social sciences, or a related field.
- Three to five years of related professional experience.
- Highly proficient computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of internal and external constituents including faculty, staff, students, alumnae, parents, donors, volunteers, and friends of the College.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Desire and ability to establish cooperative and effective working relationships.
- Sound judgment and problem solving skills
- Willingness to pitch in where needed (other duties as assigned)
Preferred Qualifications:

- Prior experience with development or fundraising software.
- Volunteer recruitment and management experience.
- Prior experience in Raiser’s Edge, Constant Contact
Physical Functions
While performing the responsibilities of the Annual Giving Officer, the employee is required to sit for varying lengths of time; bend, reach, lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds; occasionally stand, walk, and kneel and regularly ascend/descend stairs; use hands and fingers to handle or feel and manipulate keys on a keyboard; perform extended periods of work at a computer workstation, view a computer monitor; perceive sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and receive detailed information through oral communication; express and exchange ideas by means of spoken word; and work in an office setting.
