Salem College’s Lucy Rose Center Hosts Two-Day Career Fair

In mid-September, Salem College’s Lucy Rose Center for Global Leadership & Career Innovation hosted a two-day fair that gave students the opportunity to connect with representatives from 67 employers and graduate schools. While Salem College has hosted numerous graduate school, internship, and career fairs in the past, this was the first two-day fair in recent history.

Students explored a wide range of potential career and graduate education pathways in healthcare, business, criminal justice, human services, the arts, education, government, film production, and other fields. Participating organizations included the FBI, Wake Forest School of Medicine, Javara Research, Allegacy Federal Credit Union, State Farm, Cone Health, Novant Health, and Sawtooth Art Therapy, among others.

“The two-day fair at Salem College opened doors to new career opportunities that students may not have encountered otherwise, providing them direct access to employers, graduate programs, and professionals who could help shape their next steps. The experience helped students discover internships and career pathways, and identify graduate programs aligned with their academic interests and long-term goals,” said Lee Svete, director of the Lucy Rose Center for Global Leadership & Career Innovation.

The fair is one of the many ways the Lucy Rose Center helps Salem College’s students connect their education with what comes next. By bringing employers and graduate program representatives to campus, students are given the opportunity to explore their interests, build professional relationships, and take meaningful steps toward their future careers.
