National Leader on Community and Connection Lucy Rose ’76 announced as Salem Academy and College’s Founders Day Convocation Speaker
Salem Academy and College is pleased to announce that alumna Lucy Rose will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Founders Day Convocation, an annual event to commemorate Salem’s founding in 1772. Rose received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Salem College in 1976 and has remained a dedicated and generous supporter of the Salem community.
Rose is the President and owner of Lucy Rose & Associates, LLC, and founder of The Cost of Loneliness Project. With The Cost of Loneliness Project, Rose leads national conversations on the devastating impacts of loneliness. Her keynote address at this year’s Founders Day Convocation will explore the importance and life-changing power of community.
“I am deeply honored to return for Salem’s Founders Day and to stand in community as we mark 254 years since its founding. Salem has always been more than an institution — it is a living testament to the power of connection, courage, and collective purpose. In a time when authentic community is both challenged and essential, I am grateful to celebrate the enduring bonds that continue to shape leaders across generations,” Rose said.
The Founders Day Convocation will be held on April 17 at 4:15, in the May Dell on Salem’s historic campus. Members of the public are welcome to attend, and tickets are not required.
