Salem College to Present Mathias Concert on April 26, 2025

Salem College will present a Mathias choral concert at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 26. The performance will take place in the Shirley Auditorium inside the Salem Academy and College Elberson Fine Arts Center and is free and open to the public.

Performers for the concert include several highly talented performers, including the Salem Academy A Capella group, the Salem College Chorale, and faculty from Salem Academy & College. This year we have special guests, “Forecast,” an award-winning barbershop quartet. It is sure to be an inspiring and uplifting evening.

“Our Mathias choral concert will be a wonderful concert celebrating all types of vocal music. The concert will also give a window into the thriving musical program at Salem Academy and College,” said Salem College Choral Director Patrick Schell. “I encourage the public to join Salem for this free event on April 26.”

The barbershop quartet, “Forecast,” includes Mike Fitch, Music Director at Salem Academy. The group has a repertoire of songs that spans from traditional early American vocal standards in the barbershop style all the way to four-part harmony versions of contemporary hits by Michael Buble, Big Bad VooDoo Daddy, and the Jive Aces.

The concert is generously funded by Ginger Mathias Bowman through an endowed fund at Salem College in memory of her parents, William H. and Helen O. Mathias for their love of Moravian music.
