Salem College to Host Free Christmas Candlelight Service
WINSTON-SALEM, NC (NOV. 20, 2024)—Salem College will host its annual Christmas Candlelight Service on December 5, 2024 at 4:15 p.m. The service, which is free and open to the public, will be held on Salem’s campus in the Elberson Fine Arts Center’s Hanes Auditorium. The Elberson Fine Arts Center is located at 412 Rams Drive off East Salem Avenue in Winston-Salem.
The Christmas Candlelight Service will feature Salem College students, faculty, and staff, who will deliver inspiring words for the season, along with student readers who will share the Christmas story. The Salem Chorale will provide seasonal singing and music, and the Christmas Candlelight Service will end with the lighting of traditional Moravian candles.
“Salem looks forward to sparking the beginning of the Christmas season with this cherished and beautiful Candlelight Service. It’s a wonderful time to gather with family and friends before the busy time of the holidays starts,” Salem Academy and College President Summer J. McGee, Ph.D. said. “In the spirit of the holidays, we offer this event for free to inspire as many community members as possible to join us in this cheerful experience and witness firsthand the magic of this tradition.”
No registration is required to attend the Christmas Candlelight Service. Free parking is available adjacent to the Elberson Fine Arts Center.
