Complete Residency Licensure while earning your Master of Arts in Teaching degree
Salem College’s Residency Licensure program allows for teacher candidates to be dually enrolled in the Residency Licensure and the Master of Arts in Teacher (MAT) program. Candidates complete Residency Licensure requirements during Phase 1 of the MAT program and may then transition to Phase 2, where they complete the MAT degree and earn an advanced teaching license.
Residency Licensure is available in the following areas:
Elementary Education (K-6)
Special Education General Curriculum (K-12)
Middle Grades Education (English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, & Social Studies)
Secondary Education (English, Mathematics, Science, & Social Studies)
