“Salem women can do anything!” Annie Kennedy, Class of 2010

“College is an intense growing experience, and at Salem everyone looks out for each other. This was especially important as a biology major. To have such a small class size, even in our labs, meant I could really get a hands-on feel for what I was learning and explore my interests.

“The camaraderie and energy on campus empowered me to push further in and out of class. Starting freshman year, I watched the diplomacy of the other class presidents and was inspired! From being elected class president in my sophomore year to serving on the Honor Council and planning my own dental internship rotation senior year, doors were opened for me at Salem and beyond.

“Now I am headed where I have always wanted to go, the Dental School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. But that is not all. Having my advisors become my friends and my peers cheer me on to my goals has made all the hard work so fun!”
