Raised in a small town in Western North Carolina, Sidney sought new scenery for her college experience. Her heart chose Salem College, nestled in the “big city” of Winston-Salem. Attending Salem allowed her to immerse herself in a new culture while maintaining a community that was similar to her hometown. Sidney received her Bachelor of Science degree from Salem in 2016 and she joined the admissions staff after graduation.
During her time at Salem, Sidney was a member of the Salem College softball team, a campus ambassador who led prospective students on a tour of campus, and an Orientation Leader. She also completed internships with the admissions staff and various animal care clinics. Her favorite by far was with the Western North Carolina Nature Center in which she provided daily enrichment for barnyard animals and white-tailed deer. Enrichment usually consisted of offering spices and herbs to the goats and sheep as well as blowing bubbles with the white-tailed deer.
Sidney is very close to her family and enjoys going on adventures with them during her time off. She also loves crafts and spending the weekend with her pets. On campus, she can be found enjoying lunch by the koi pond or enjoying one of the many shaded areas across campus.
