Sally Duran

Adjunct Instructor of Harp, Instructor of Harp for the Community Music School

Sally Duran has been a professional harpist in the Piedmont Triad area for twenty-five years. She holds degrees from NYSU and Salem College in harp performance.  

Sally performs regularly with the Greensboro and Salisbury Symphony. She has performed with the North Carolina Symphony, Roanoke Symphony, Piedmont Players, High Point Theater, Greensboro Opera, Piedmont Opera, and South Carolina Opera. She was principal harpist concurrently with the Greensboro Philharmonia for twenty years, Johnson City for fifteen years, and the Wilmington Symphony for eight years. She has been a featured soloist on the Lyceum Academia Series at Winston-Salem State University, the Gilmer-Smith Foundation Series, and the Piedmont Arts Series.   

The musical harp duo, “Classical Duran, Duran,” has performed widely on the East Coast. The Duran Trio for viola, flute, and harp ensemble has performed regularly for the last twenty years in the Piedmont area. Sally has recorded seven CD projects for Kindermusik, and has served on the faculty of the Summer Harp Academy for the past ten years.  

In addition to her performance schedule, Sally maintains a private harp studio. She is currently President of the Piedmont Chapter of the American Harp Society.
