Raina Lucas received her MFA in dance from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and her bachelor’s degree in dance and psychology from Goucher College. She is the founder and artistic director of the Raina Lucas//Dance Co. & Lab, an emerging project-based contemporary dance company in Durham, North Carolina. She has performed in choreographic works by Larry Keigwin, Elizabeth Corbett, Doris Humphrey, and Elolo Gharbin, and is a recipient of a 2017-2018 Tobacco Road Dance Productions workshop grant for the creation and presentation of new work. Prior to teaching on the faculty at Salem College, Raina taught in the dance programs at Guilford College and the University of North Carolina Greensboro, and teaches ballet and contemporary dance to kids/adults at Durham’s Ninth Street Dance. She has served as a guest teaching artist for a variety of studios and schools around North Carolina. Raina is proud to be a part of the Salem College Dance Department and the Salem College community!
