Ms. Haight has performed solo piano recitals and for various events in Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania and was a winner in state and national Fine Arts Keyboard Competitions in 1992, both in Ohio and Texas. She came to North Carolina in 2006 to study with Dr. Barbara Lister-Sink at Salem College, due to debilitating playing-related injuries to her hands and arms. In 2007, Ms. Haight had the opportunity to accompany Sherwood Forest Elementary Songsters 5th grade Chorus (Winston-Salem, NC) on the piano, for a three-hour Holiday concert in the East Room of the White House.
She holds a B.A. in Piano Performance, a B.M. in Music Education from Salem College, an M.M. from the University of Florida, and the Professional Certificate in The Lister Sink Method©. She has worked extensively alongside Dr. Barbara Lister-Sink in re-training keyboardists from around the world. She holds a professional educators license in K-12 Music Education in North Carolina and has taught general music and band classes, chorus, piano, flute, and voice to ages ranging from preschool through adult for the past 25+ years. She now incorporates the Lister-Sink Method© in all aspects of her full-time teaching.
In her spare time, Ms. Haight enjoys playing piano, and playing her flute and saxophone in church and in community bands. Singing has also become a favorite pastime and is enjoyed at any time of the day or night! To date, Ms. Haight has sung with members of the Winston-Salem Symphony Chorus in two productions of The Nutcracker. She also enjoys violin for her own enrichment. She loves animals, spending time with family and friends, and the company of her rescue cat, Lilly.
