Chris Simon has been a faculty member at the University of Iowa and joins Salem most recently from Duke University, where he was a faculty member in the Trent Center for Bioethics. There, he led a university-wide initiative to redesign and roll out a program in the responsible conduct of research. Simon holds a doctoral degree in medical anthropology and has post-doctoral training in applied bioethics. His work contributes to Salem’s focus on ethics and strengthens health leadership ethics in the humanities, arts, and sciences.

Research interest span anthropology and ethics of medical practice, ethics in research, professional integrity, informed consent, genetics and genomics, and medical innovation.
