As the Associate Director of Athletics at Salem College, Betsy Pryor has the responsibility of running the daily operations of the athletic department. In addition she also serves as the Director of Aquatics and Physical Education Instructor. In 2004, she held the position of Interim Director of Athletics. From 1986-1997, Betsy led the NCAA Division I Davidson College Wildcats to six Deep South Championships, an NCAA South Region ranking, and was awarded the College Field Hockey Coaches Association Regional Coach of the Year in 1991.
Prior to joining Davidson College, Betsy worked as the girl’s athletic director and head field hockey coach at Westtown School in Westtown, PA. She earned her B.S. in Physical Education from St. Lawrence University where she was a four year member of the field hockey and basketball teams.While completing a Master of Arts in Teaching degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Betsy served as the assistant field hockey coach at Duke University.
Betsy is the supervisor of officials for the local Optimist field hockey program and was instrumental in the development of the program. She holds a US Field Hockey Association Level II official rating. As a member of the aquatics staff at the local YMCA she teaches water fitness.
