If you are having a family emergency and need to contact your daughter:
During business hours, contact the dean of students’ office at 336-721-2627. After hours, contact public safety at 336-917-5555.
If your daughter is upset or feeling anxious, or has an emotional problem that is not an emergency:
During business hours, your daughter may make an appointment to speak with a personal counselor by calling the confidential counseling services live at 336-721-2625. The counseling services staff also works with area mental health providers to assist students with long-term needs. You should also ask your daughter to talk with her residential counselor (RC). The RCs are professional residence-life staff members who live on campus.
Salem College’s Health and Counseling Services office is open during the academic year for appointments Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1:00 to 4:30 p.m.
