Favorite thing about Salem: As a Moravian, Salem College has always held a special place in my heart. I particularly love the marriage of yesteryear and tomorrow, which is evident throughout our campus. There are time-honored traditions that have been observed for centuries, alongside cutting edge technologies and dynamic worldviews.

Favorite place on campus: There are so many lovely areas throughout campus, although my favorite place is Salem Square. Each season brings something special and unique, be it the whiff of wood smoke through the autumn leaves, the sound of horses and sleigh bells during the holidays, the beautiful heirloom gardens of spring, or the constant splashing of our 250 year old water pump during the summer months. And of course, the tantalizing aromas from Winkler’s Bakery are always in season!

What I do in my spare time: I love to cook, read, garden, sew, and quilt. I also love to travel, be it across the county or around the world. I am a lover of all things British, and hope to eventually call the UK my home. I also have two Collie puppies, Hazel and Hawthorne, who are in training to one day become therapy dogs.

Advice to prospective students: Take full advantage of every opportunity that comes your way, and then make your own opportunities. Embrace your education, embrace your life, and participate in all of the enriching experiences that will help you to realize your full potential, both as a student and a person.
