For the first time ever, Salem recorded the fantastic Fall Fest skits and the video is here for all to enjoy!
The videos were filmed, edited and produced by Salem alumna Jasmine Huff who will be teaching a video class in the spring.
Greetings, Salem College parents and families!
It’s hard to believe we’re almost halfway through the semester, and Fall Break is just days away! As the leaves begin to change in Old Salem, we are excited to launch our new Parent & Family Newsletter to begin sharing with you highlights about events and programs at Salem as the seasons continue to change.
Looking at the weeks ahead, our students are busily preparing for midterm exams and writing their first papers, so it’s a great time for you to send them a note of encouragement - or better yet - a surprise delivery pizza for a late night study session with friends!
Here are a few important reminders about dates and deadlines that are fast approaching. Feel free to remind your students, and mark your calendars, too!
• Jan Term Registration Begins: October 2 (All students register for one course. Business Office holds must be cleared to register.)
• Fall Break: October 7-10
• Family Weekend: November 3-5
Congratulations on all of your hard work so far this semester! (Yes, we know that family encouragement and support greatly contributes to student success!) We hope that you enjoy hearing more about what’s going on at Salem this fall and that we might see you on campus for Family Weekend in a few weeks!
Sincerely,
Krispin Barr, Ph.D.
Dean of Students

A Salem College student will soon have a unique, hands-on research experience thanks to $680,000 National Science Foundation grant to Wake Forest University.
The NSF grant was awarded to Wake Forest University Associate Professor of Chemistry Patricia Dos Santos. In addition to funding research that helps scientists better understand life on earth, the grant also enables her to mentor students from other Triad-area colleges, including one from Salem.
We quickly found it was impossible to capture all the fun and excitement of Fall Fest and beyond in a single slideshow.
But we tried anyway.
We hope you enjoy this look back at Salem in September and we look forward to bringing you images from October next month!
