“Julius Caesar” is one of Shakespeare’s most acclaimed tragedies, detailing the murder of Julius Caesar in a historical account of duty, honor, and betrayal. It is 44 B.C. in ancient Rome, and political turmoil is on the mind of every citizen—for many are vying for control of the great Empire, even as infighting grows more insidious among the senate. As the great general Caesar gains more authority and admiration, a group of conspirators sway his close friend Brutus to assassinate him for the good of Roman democracy. Yet the one man who may have united Rome by living has as much power to divide it by his death.
