WINSTON-SALEM, NC (FEBRUARY 17, 2020)—Andrea Arévola, a graduate piano student in the Master of Music in Performance and Pedagogy program at Salem College, was featured performer and teacher at the IV Piano Festival of the Higher Institute of Public Music “Leandro Alvina Miranda” in Cusco, Peru in October 2019. Arévola, a graduate of the National University of Music in Lima, Peru and the National Academy of Music in Krakow, Poland, was invited to give a master class, a workshop on the Lister-Sink Method, and to perform as guest soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra of the City in Cusco, Peru.
Prior to enrolling at Salem College in the graduate program with Dr. Barbara Lister-Sink, Arévola performed in festivals at Interlochen Center for the Arts; Brevard Music Center; Boston University Tanglewood Institute; Eastern Music Festival; the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Tarnow, Poland; Miami International Piano Festival Academy; and the University of Florida International Piano Festival. In Peru, she also gave master classes at the 1st Meeting of Children and Young Pianists for Talent and Peace in Trujillo, and at the 1st National Meeting of Young Talents Ayacucho, which was held at the Higher School of Artistic Training “Condorcunca.”
