Dear members of the Salem College community,

It is with great sadness that I am writing to inform you of the death of one of our students.

Karen Logan, who began studying at Salem College in the fall of 2013 as a Fleer student, died this week of injuries that she sustained in a traffic accident on June 19, 2017.

Karen was pursuing a bachelor of science degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing and a minor in not-for-profit management. She was a frequent volunteer for Fleer Center events, and she was described by her advisors and the faculty who knew her as “a kind and loving person” and a “dedicated and hardworking student.”

The loss of Karen Logan will impact the Salem community in many ways. Please keep her family— particularly her husband Aaron, who is recovering from the injuries that he received in the accident—in your thoughts.

Sincerely,

D. E. Lorraine Sterritt, PhD

President
