In a letter to the Salem Academy and College community on March 17, 2015, President D. E. Lorraine Sterritt shared the exciting news of a major comprehensive campaign gift:

Dear Friends,

It is my very great pleasure to announce that we have just in the last few days received a gift of one million dollars from an anonymous donor who wishes to name the Biology and Environmental Studies Wing in the new science/mathematics building in honor of our esteemed alumna and trustee, Lucy Rose C‘76.

We thank the donor for this wonderful gift, and we thank Lucy Rose whose dedication to women in the sciences inspired this extraordinary act of generosity.
