Salem Adds New Faculty

Salem College welcomes seven new professors in disciplines ranging from chemistry to creative writing to join its esteemed faculty for the 2013-2014 academic year. 

"These seven new faculty members bring outstanding educational credentials, knowledge and practical experiences that will greatly benefit Salem College students,” says Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs and Dean of the College Susan Calovini. “I am extremely pleased to welcome them to the Salem faculty."

New faculty are:

Dr. Melissa Beeson, Assistant Professor of Education, B.A., Elementary Education, Elon University; M.Ed., Gifted Education, Elon University; Ph.D., Teacher Education, UNC-Greensboro

Dr. Katharine Blackwell, Assistant Professor of Psychology, B.S., Brain and Cognitive Sciences, University of Rochester; M.A. and Ph.D., Psychology, University of Colorado at Boulder

Dr. R. Carr Boyd, Visiting Assistant Professor of Political Science and Public Policy, B.A., American History, Hampden-Sydney College; M.A., Public Administration, UNC-Charlotte; Ph.D., Public Policy, UNC-Charlotte
