A group of Salem students recently presented at the Big South Undergraduate Research Symposium (BigSURS) at High Point University, and one student received an award for her talk.
Salem student Heather McCracken's presentation on "The New Consumer Revolution: Social Media, Empowered Consumers, and Brand Identity" received a first place award in the communication category. Other student presenters were Alana Carroll, Sarah Goscinski, Sara Otero, Victoria Hall, Sara Dowdle and Meghan McMullen. Student presenters represented a variety of disciplines, including not-for-profit management, international relations, economics, communication and more.
BigSURS provides undergraduate scholars in all fields a forum to share the results of their work through posters, presentations, performances, and works of art.
