Former Salem Dean Named Chair-Elect of NAICU

Former Salem College Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs and Dean of the College, Dr. Eileen Wilson-Oyelaran, was recently named the new chair-elect of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU).

Dr. Wilson-Oyelaran, who served at Salem from 1995 to 2005, is currently President of Kalamazoo College. She has previously been honored with the Kent Fellowship, the American Council on Education Fellowship and the Visionary Leadership Award presented by the Claremont Colleges Intercollegiate Office of Black Studies.

The NAICU serves as the unified national voice of independent higher education. Since 1976, the association has represented private colleges and universities on policy issues with the federal government, such as those affecting student aid, taxation and government regulation.
