Salem Hosted Race for the Cure

Salem Academy and College once again hosted the Susan G. Komen NC Triad Race for the Cure on May 5. Salem's CHICS (Creating Hope In Cancer Survival) team participated in the race, and Salem Academy and College had a booth at the event with temporary tattoos and other fun goodies. There wasalso be food, live entertainment and more throughout the event pavilion.

The event is designed to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer services and research. A portion of the proceeds from the race will benefit local breast health programs, including education, screenings and treatment support. The Komen NC Triad Affiliate serves 11 counties, including: Alamance, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, Wilkes, and Yadkin.

10:15 a.m. Awards & Presentations at the main stage
10:30 a.m. Survivor Recognition Processional
10:45 a.m. Survivor Photo
10:50 a.m. Butterfly Release
11:00 a.m. Ceremonies close
12:30 p.m. Shuttle service ends
