Salem Adds New Faculty

Salem College welcomes 10 new faculty members to campus for the 2011-2012 academic year:

Sara Shuger Fox, Assistant Professor of Exercise Science
Fox received her B.S. from Iowa State University and her Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina.

Alyson Francisco, Mary Ardrey Stough Kimbrough Professor of Business and Economics
Francisco received her B.S. from North Carolina State University and her M.B.A. from Duke University.

John Gerstmyer, Assistant Professor of Education
Gerstmyer received his B.A. and M.Ed. from McDaniel College and his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.

Ana León-Távora, Assistant Professor of Spanish
León-Távora received her B.A., M.A. and Ph. D. from the Universidad de Sevilla.

Joanne Black Mencarini, Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology and Criminal Studies
Mencarini received her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, her M.S. from the University of New Haven and her J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law.

Jennifer Piscopo, Assistant Professor of Public Policy
Piscopo received her B.A. from Wellesley College, her M. Phil. from the University of Cambridge and her Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego.

Megan Silbert, Assistant Professor of Economics
Silbert received her B.S.B.A., M.Ed. and Ph.D. from the University of Florida.

Natasha Veale, Assistant Professor of Education
Veale received her B.S. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, her B.S. from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, her M.Ed. from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her Ph.D. from Capella University.

Elroi Windsor, Assistant Professor of Sociology
Windsor received her B.A. from Chatham College and her M.A. and Ph.D. from Georgia State University.

Jing Ye, Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Physics
Ye received her B.E. from Guizhou University and her Ph.D. from Florida Atlantic University (anticipated fall 2011).
