Salem Named Groundbreaking Women's College by USA TODAY College

A recent article on the USA TODAY College website named Salem College number two in a list of 10 Groundbreaking American Women's Colleges, above distinguished institutions such as Mount Holyoke College and Spelman College.

The article credited Salem as the oldest continually running women's college, and noted the school's history as a progressive institution: "The Moravians established it with the radical belief that women and men both deserved equal educational opportunities, and also broke further ground as one of the very first institutions to accept minorities alongside whites."
