Thousands of people flooded the Salem College campus on May 7 for the Susan B. Komen NC Triad Race for the Cure. The event, which helps raise money for breast cancer research and prevention, recorded its second-largest turnout ever with more than 10,000 participants.

At the Salem booth, volunteers donned hot pink wigs to honor breast cancer survivors. Meanwhile, the Salem C.H.I.C.S. student and alumni teams ran/walked in the race, raising more than $800 for the cause.
