Interior Design Students Help Habitat for Humanity

October 25, 2011

During the month of October, Professor Rosa Otero and students in Salem’s Interior Design program are lending a hand to Habitat for Humanity, helping build homes for deserving families in our community. The team is participating in Habitat’s ReStore Spaces project, which connects local interior design groups with a local realtor and a family in need. The team will design a 12x12 space (a living room for Salem’s team) using items from the Habitat ReStore and donated items from Liberty Hardware. Salem’s design team is partnered with Weichert Realtors Triad-Associates to help the Martinez family of Winston-Salem.

Each team will compete for the Community Choice award, which allows members of the community to vote for their favorite team with a $10 tax deductible donation. Voting takes just a few minutes on Habitat’s secure site. Winners will be announced during the annual ReStore Spaces event, Nov. 4, 6:30-11 p.m. at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, 341 Witt St., Winston-Salem.

Help support the Salem team as they assist a deserving local family!
