Leilani Munter, eco-activist and race-car driver, will be on campus on Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. as part of a workshop entitled "Celebrity, Media and Social Movements."  She will talk about her trips to Japan to observe dolphins and her work with activist groups to save them. An Academy-Award winning movie on the dolphins, entitled The Cove, will be screened and Joy Braunstein, head of the Carolina Raptor Center and instructor for a Salem not-for-profit management class this term on non-governmental organizations (NGOs), will facilitate a discussion about the impact of media and celebrity on movements, and when movements turn into NGOs. Free. This will be held in the Drama Workshop, Salem Fine Arts Center.
