Performance opportunities are vast both on and off the Salem College campus. All Salem College ensembles are open to any member of the student body regardless of major. The primary performance ensembles are as follows:
Salem College also produces one play and one musical each year with lead roles performed by music students. Recent performances include the following:
Winston-Salem—North Carolina’s “City of Innovation and the Arts”–offers a wealth of performances in of which Salem students are often eligible to perform including the Winston-Salem Symphony Chorale (large oratorio works performed with the Winston-Salem Symphony), and various large ensembles through Wake Forest University.
There are also numerous off-campus performances of a wide array of genres including those at UNCSA, Wake Forest University, the Winston-Salem Symphony, the new Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts, and many others.
