This year’s Founders Day speaker will be Ruth Davis, the IBM Director of Call For Code, the largest and most ambitious open-source “tech for good” platform, bringing together worldwide developers and problem solvers to address the most pressing societal issues.
began her career as a Systems Engineer after earning a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Temple University at age 18. She brings more than three decades of progressive experience and recognition for success in technology consulting, business development, marketing program management, talent development, and sales leadership. In Ruth’s current role as Client Partner for IBM Consulting, she delivers business value to clients focused on accelerating their digital transformation to achieve their organizational goals. Ruth recently served as IBM Director of Call for Code, the largest Tech for Good platform that brings together global developers and problem solvers to create sustainable open source solutions. Ruth led the growth of the ecosystem of corporations, developers and students to address the world’s most pressing issues including natural disasters, racial injustice, Covid-19 and climate change.
As a DEI advocate, Ruth is active in IBM’s Women’s Executive Council and Black Executive Council. In that capacity, she leads agile teams to create and implement innovative global initiatives to create a culture that attracts, grows and retains diverse talent. Ruth is committed to making a difference in underserved communities and believes that quality education and access to technology are key components to success. As board Vice-chair of the InspirEDU non-profit, she focuses on bridging the ongoing digital divide and creating a diverse STEM pipeline.
