Salem College announces an opening for a part-time counselor in the Office of Counseling Services to provide individual and group counseling to a diverse population of traditional-age undergraduate students. Position begins immediately; the starting date is negotiable. Responsibilities include counseling (individual and group), intake assessments, crisis intervention, referrals, treatment planning, and documentation. The position will also provide clinical supervision to graduate-level counseling interns; work collaboratively with medical providers in a multi-disciplinary setting and consult with the campus community; provide outreach, consultation, and support to marginalized populations with emphasis on serving students of color and students who identify with the LGBTQ community; assist in coordinating multicultural outreach programs, services, training, and professional development; and advise student groups as requested. This is a ten-month position that follows the academic year. A master’s degree in counseling, social work, or a closely related field is required; a doctoral degree is preferred. Must be licensed to practice in North Carolina.
