Seven Dimensions of Wellness

Salem College defines wellness in terms of learning grounded in the pursuit of excellence and the education of the whole person. A Salem College education transcends the traditional model of education inside the classroom to merge knowledge with practice through a multidimensional learning experience.

In addition to the intellectual dimension of learning, wellness at Salem offers opportunities for learning in the spiritual, emotional, physical, environmental, occupational and community dimensions. This seven-phased model of wellness is adapted from one originally designed by the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point.

Salem implements this holistic model of wellness education through programming that provides students with resources that support their academic success.
