Image Behind Salem's bricks and historic facades is a high-speed network connecting all academic buildings and residence halls. Updated in 2004, fiber optics running at Gigabit speeds link main network points on campus. Workstations and other end-user devices connect over 100MB switched Ethernet. Wifi 802.11b/g is also available at various points on campus to enable a more mobile environment. This infrastructure provides access to the Internet from each classroom, dorm room and faculty office. Kiosk PCs are also set up for student use in the Gramley library and in the PC and LC labs at the College and in the Critz building at the Academy. If you need the services of the IT Department to diagnose a problem, repair an outage, or discuss your technology needs, you can reach us in three ways:

  • If you have access to the Salem web on campus,  click here, log in with your regular ID and password, and create a service ticket. Fill in as much information as you can to help our staff prepare.

  • Call the IT Help Line by dialing H E L P

  • Send an Email to helpdesk@salem.edu
