“I can’t believe my connection with this place. I do not want to leave!” I thought. As I was sitting in the car, after visiting Salem for the first time, I was thinking about the huge high school I had been in and the 16 other schools to which I had applied. I just wanted to stay right here at Salem.
I asked the faculty member in my admissions interview why he was here. He told me his mother was a very strong woman and he wanted to encourage others to be like that. Women walked here from Bethlehem, PA, to start the first women’s college in the United States. This place has a purpose.
“Right then I decided, ‘I am going to pursue my dream here.’”
