Salem Academy and College
Welcome to the Presidential Search web page for Salem Academy and College. Salem is seeking a new President at an exciting time. Under the leadership of retiring President Susan E. Pauly, the institution has achieved a position of strength on many fronts, including solid financial footing, new land for expansion, academic achievement at the Academy and College, and historic student enrollment. The next President will have a remarkable opportunity to build on this dynamic platform and advance a strategic vision for Salem’s future.
To carry out the search, the Board of Trustees has appointed a Presidential Search Committee comprised of a highly representative and qualified group of trustees, faculty, staff, alumnae, and students. I am honored to chair the committee and lead this important process. We have engaged the search firm of Coleman Lew + Associates to advise and assist the search committee.
At this pivotal moment in Salem’s history, the committee’s search will have a significant role in shaping the future of the oldest continually operating school for girls and women. We greatly value the input that we have received through the surveys and interviews conducted across the Salem community. Please continue to provide your comments and your nominations of presidential candidates through the links on this page, where you will also find periodic reports from the committee. Our goal is to complete the search in the Spring of 2014 and for the new president to take office at or near the beginning of July 2014.
