Doug BorwickDr. Doug Borwick is nationally recognized in arts and not-for-profit management. He is a sought-after consultant and workshop leader specializing in strategic planning, not-for-profit marketing, board development, and fundraising. Dr. Borwick is also a composer, having won 20 consecutive ASCAP Annual Awards for his achievements in the field of classical music. His music has been performed throughout the United States and is published by ALRY Publications, Etc., inc.; Leyerle Publications; and Warner/Chappell Music, Inc. His composition Silver Winds, is included on the National Flute Choir's CD High Altitude. His latest composition, Bridges, a one-act musical drama, will have its world premiere in Winston-Salem in February of 2003. Dr. Borwick earned the Ph.D. in composition from the Eastman School of Music and an M.M. and B.M in composition and theory from Baylor University. He has studied composition with Samuel Adler, Warren Benson, Joseph Schwantner, Russell Peck, and Richard Willis. His composition honors include the Washington International Competition for String Quartet Composition and the Sernoffsky Prize. His orchestral composition 'Round the Ring of the Moon won the NC Federation of Music Clubs' Hinda Honigman Cup honoring an outstanding composition by a North Carolina composer.
