Lynn Beck
Lynn Huntzinger Beck holds performance and education
degrees from the Eastman School of Music and the University of Southern
California, and studied horn with Verne Reynolds, James Decker and Vincent
DeRosa. Prior to NCSA, she was horn professor for 12 years at the University
of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she also served as theory coordinator.
As hornist with the Sierra Wind Quintet, Ms. Beck recorded
two internationally acclaimed compact discs on the Cambria label. She
has performed with the Spoleto Festival and National Repertory orchestras,
and has appeared as soloist at the International Horn Society Workshop.
Also active as a commercial musician in Las Vegas, Ms. Beck traveled internationally
with the Frank Sinatra Orchestra. Formerly principal horn with the Nevada
Symphony, she is now a member of the Greensboro Symphony and performs
frequently with other area orchestras, including the Knoxville, North
Carolina, Charlotte, and Winston-Salem symphonies. She has served as education
director for the Greensboro Symphony and is a member of the music theory
faculty at both NCSA and Salem College.
