Salem College Women's Soccer begins its first season as a varsity sport in 2005 under Coach Jay Callahan. The team competes independently in NCAA Division III. In its first year as a varsity team, the program has already made great strides towards being a competitive Division III school.

The team, which features members from all around the country, continues to improve in each game they play. The have a tough schedule in 2005 against some strong Division II and Division III schools. The team also is very young, with only three upperclassmen on the squad.

Coach Callahan hopes to bring in a strong recruiting class for the 2006 season, and plans on turning the team into a well-known and powerful program.
