Welcome to Salem College Basketball! Excitement is in the air as we enter our first year in the NCAA Division III! With a group of talented first year students to go along with the returnees, the 2005-2006 Salem College Spirits will be much improved and a greater challenge to opponents this year. Jim Jackson is the new head coach of the Spirits and brings many years of successful basketball coaching experience with him. Coach Jackson is excited to be here at Salem College and is looking forward to building a solid foundation and a winning tradition. Salem College Falls To Meredith In Season Finale

Salem College defeated Allen University 50-46 in overtime Saturday afternoon in Winston-Salem, NC. The Spirits of Salem College (3-14) were led by Nahamah Jackson (Camden, NJ) who grabbed 26 rebounds, a new school record. The Spirits of Salem College ran into tough competition as they traveled northward to Buena Vista, Virginia Friday afternoon. The Southern Virginia Knights ended the first half on a 10-0 run and never looked back after securing a 36-17 half-time lead. The final score was 76-39 in favor of the Knights. The Salem Spirits traveled to Raleigh Tuesday night to play Peace College in a non-conference basketball game. Going into the game, Peace College’s Tia Saunders, a senior from Lawndale, NC, was currently the #2 scorer and rebounder in the USA South Conference with an average of 21.2 points and 11 rebounds per game.
