Applying to Salem
Salem College seeks applicants with strong academic talent, motivation, and character who can benefit from, and add to, the quality of life on campus. Salem accepts applications from students of all religious, geographic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds.
Each completed application is considered individually. Acceptance is based on the candidate's school record, scores from the SAT I or ACT, extracurricular activities, and information concerning the academic and personal qualifications of the applicant.
Although we do not require a personal interview for admission, we would like to meet you. We encourage you to visit the Salem campus, meet with a staff member in our Admissions Office, talk with our professors and students, sample a class, and tour the campus.
Application Options:
- Apply Online - use your web browser to apply to Salem using our own online application form. The online form comes in two parts: your academic information, and your personal statement.
- Request an Application - fill out our information request form and we will send you a packet that includes the Salem appication. You may also request an application by phone at 1-800-32-SALEM or e-mail at admissions@salem.edu.
- You may download and print the application (see below)- our application is available for download in Adobe's Acrobat format. You will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software to view and print these files.
Continuing Studies Students
Women and men ages 23 and up should apply for admissions through the Office of Continuing Studies as application requirements, tuition and fees are unique for "non-traditional" students.
School of Music Auditions:
In addition to the standard application, students interested in the School of Music should submit the Music Interest Form and arrange for an audition.
