Ms. Nikki Richardson - Registrar’s Office Assistant; also transcript clerk, liaison for cross-registration at Wake Forest University, and document tracker for independent studies and internships.

Transcript Requests

How Students (current and former) can Request a Transcript
Due to federal regulations designed to protect the security of student records, transcripts cannot be requested by phone or by e-mail. Instead, in order for Salem to release a copy of your record, you (the student) must submit a written request (either in person using the request card available in the Registrar’s Office if you are on campus currently, or by regular mail service if you are away) authorizing this release and containing the following information:

  • your current name and name that your records might be under (if different)
  • your approximate dates of attendance at Salem
  • your social security number
  • your current address and phone number
  • the address to which you would like the transcript(s) sent
  • number of transcripts requested and indication of whether you wish to have official or student copies, or both (generally official transcripts should be mailed directly to the other party unless they have asked you to submit transcripts in a sealed envelope yourself)
  • your (the student’s) written signature
  • check made out to Salem for appropriate fee (The transcript fee is $5.00 per copy unless this is the very first transcript you have ever requested: students may receive one transcript free of charge if they have never requested one before, but all others after that single free copy are $5.00 each.)

Your request should be mailed to the following address:
Registrar’s Office
Salem College
PO Box 10548
Winston-Salem, NC 27108

Transcripts are processed as quickly as possible, but you should allow for at least two business days processing time from when we receive the request. During peak times of the year (at the beginning and the end of fall term and spring term, for example), processing time may be longer.

Please note that transcripts cannot be released for students who are indebted to the College or who have defaulted on student loans.
