Salem College Alumna Wins Triad Business Leadership Award
Beth Mabe Gianopulos, member of the Salem College class of 1997, was named as one of the Triad Business Journal’s 2014 Women in Business honorees. Joining other outstanding women in the community, Gianopulos was nominated for the honor and selected from a large pool of candidates within the Triad for her many contributions to the legal field and her extensive volunteer work. All award-recipients were honored at a luncheon on April 25 in Greensboro, N.C.
Gianopulos is the primary legal council for all employment-related issues at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center (WFBMC). In her current position, she has instituted a comprehensive document management policy, along with leading a collaborative effort on forms for advanced directives, that has been adopted by WFBMC, Novant Healthy, Cone Health, and other regional providers.
When asked about her greatest career achievement, Gianopulos credits her Salem College graduation, as she was the first in her family to receive a college degree. She continued her academic career at Wake Forest University, graduating fourth in her law school class.
Before accepting her position at WFUBMC, Gianopulos was the first general council and planning officer for Salem Academy and College. She still serves her Alma Mater as a member of the Salem College Alumnae Board.
